The buyers of the convertibles are often precluded from shorting, either directly or via derivative, for a specified period. But, we're as much in the dark about that issue as everything else. Another factor that COULD be adversely affected the price is an arbitrage scheme used in connection with these convertibles involving short selling against the convertibles.
