Hi Delbert, regarding prophecy fulfillment, You wrote, " I am not at all amazed that the Bible predictions came true. Isn't that what the authors intended? Del"
The people who wrote the Old Testament prophecies in many cases didn't understand what they were writing, according to The Bible, " 1 Pet 1:9 obtaining as the outcome of your faith the salvation of your souls. 1 Pet 1:10 As to this salvation, the prophets who prophesied of the grace that would come to you made careful search and inquiry, 1 Pet 1:11 seeking to know what person or time the Spirit of Christ within them was indicating as He predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories to follow. 1 Pet 1:12 It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves, but you, in these things which now have been announced to you through those who preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven-- things into which angels long to look."
The Spirit Of Christ in them was moving on them as He predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories to follow would come by grace. A careful reading shows that the Spirit did the predicting, not the prophets. They recorded it, but didn't understand it, so they searched to find the meaning of it.
So what? Very obvious, God is the author, humans the recorders.
"Mat 11:28 "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest."
