unclewest, Well! I am flattered. That is the first time anyone has EVER called me subtle. :^) Most look at me like a bull in a china shop. I have a problem with mincing words, and it sometimes hurts people's tender feelings, because I refuse to be politically correct.

IMO, the very fact that Kerry went to war with a video camera, is suspect. To me, it is a clear indication that he had plans to make movies that would promote a political career for himself. The truth of war, is not a pretty picture. People die, and get maimed, beyond what most people could bear to witness. War is ugly, war is hell. Those that engage in it, are subjected to horrors that can boggle their minds, and change their lives, but very few, go into it looking for a way to make them look like a hero. Nobody starts out to be a hero. Heroism is something that is, suddenly, born in the crazy world of combat. No one can know who will, or will not, perform in a heroic way, but every soldier, sailor, marine, and airman, that purposely places himself in harms way, is a hero to me.

The Swiftvets did not have any axe to grind with Kerry until they saw the possibility of him becoming CIC. From what they witnessed in Nam, that scared them about the future of the military we so, desperately, need to protect this nation. Why do we need such protection so much? Because the rest of the world envies what we have, and what we have achieved in only a little more than 200 years. With envy, comes resentment, and the urge to take us down to their miserable level.

More dangerous than the sham of Kerry's heroics in Nam, is his voting record while in the Senate. Every potential voter should study that record, and then compare it with the statements, and promises, he is making on the campaign trail. If they would do so, they would see the perfidious nature of the man.

If he takes from the rich, to give to the poor, in a decade, there will nothing left but a larger population of poor people.
