Carl, could you repeat it again ? Just kidding. One thing that you have missed is that nexgen 586 was made compatable with pentium. And from what you have said I can conclude that nexgen 586 is not in production because amd can not do it.
I would not claim that I know anything about the production of chips but I do have a couple of questions:
1) if nexgen 586 can not be produced at amd fabs does not that mean that there is a good chance that 686 production schedule will not be met
2) is there any chance that nexgen 586 will replace k-5 in the future and that would make amd 586 chips more valuable (competative)
