10:12 SUNW Sun Microsystems downgraded to Above Average at Caris (4.09 +0.06) Caris downgrades SUNW to Above Average from Buy. Firm believes that business results have been mixed in the March qtr and that SUNW's concentrated reliance on a handful of vertical industry segments has forced the co to weather the ups-anddowns of its customers' ability to make strategic purchasing decisions. Firm is also particularly concerned about Sun's Federal Systems business, and notes that unfortunately, SUNW does not have many significant new products at hand to offset these weakening tendencies. Firm lowers rev and EPS ests for Q3, Q4, FY05, and FY06.
