The White House leaked Valerie Plame's ID during war-time. That is literally treason. In fact GHW Bush called it "the worst kind of insidious treason". And then we found out Plame was a key CIA secret agent on Iranian WMD. So how costly was her outing to our national security? Very costly indeed. The White House leaks classified data all the time. And they also leak doctored data, pieces of it taken out of context to give the opposite impression of reality. This White House is very dishonest and manipulative when it comes to their handling of state secrets and classified data. Rick Santorum recently waved a classified document in front of Fox News cameras to "prove" there were WMD in Iraq. The report turned out to be about a few degraded mustard gas shells which do not qualify as WMD and are useless to terrorists. Cheney openly asserts he can declassify any damn thing he wants any time he wants for any reason and national security be damned.
