Well, it is a good point you make.

But I think the disappearance of anything resembling an unbiased media is now cast in stone. People just don't read newspapers anymore, preferring to read web-based news -- but it seems the papers never figured out a model that makes it pay without the print edition. It is tragic.

I, long ago, moved toward books for most of my information. Not as timely, but you can cover subjects like health care in depth, and over an extended time assess the level of bias in the writing. Recently, the advent of Amazon's Kindle has made it possible to get material on the fly that in an earlier day you'd have to wait on and from a variety of writers.
