Ed, Most of the GaAs producers are ex military IC suppliers, so all the big defense electronic companies had some GaAs section. These companies are looking for ways to exploit their technology in fast growing market segments and thereby offset the decline in defense spending. The companies currently in the GaAs market are TQNT, ANAD, CLTK and RFMD.

By " RF Silicon " I was refering to any silicon processes usable above 1GHz. This would include 0.25u CMOS, 0.5u BICMOS, and any SiGe combinations.
Companies like HRS, MOT, TXN, GEC-Plessey, NEC and so on have these processes available today.
