An oblique admission of stagnating subscriber growth? Can advertising alone drive their profit targets? No, the number of subscribers keeps going up, but the total subscriber fees might come down due to more and more freebies. Therefore, with the announcement of more subscribers, they can induce more advertisers. The reality will come whenever advertisers do not reap benefit as they hope. Let us see how much business Preview Travel, N2K, TALK, Flowers etc get from AOL exposure. Paul
