Many of the subpoenas we receive from the government
prohibit us from informing SI members of the government's request for
information. Consequently, we cannot comply with your request.

Don't know much about criminal law, it's a different animal. I don't mind as much if the SEC investigates me as I do some knucklehead I'm in a flame war with. The SEC won't do anything to me, I'm innocent. But the knucklehead can wreak havoc on my life in any number of legal and illegal ways. (not to say that the government does not, on a daily basis, wreak havoc on innocent people's lives, but comparing the knucklehead's potential havoc to the government's, I say bring on the feds . . . )

My main beef here is SI complying with civil lawsuit subpoenas without notifying its members.
