BRCM has no monopoly and competition will become more aggressive.

And this is the issue I am trying to wrestle with. I know what we have in software- all small companies dead, no startup companies funded and a few, (very few) remaining players. Therefore, the fact that nobody has a monopoly doesn't matter. Whoever has cash from the bubble and has a mkt will prosper, competition is gone. I don't know if thats true in the chip biz. There are almost no startups funded I do know that- atheros was funded in the bubble.
