Luke, That's just my opinion.

As for technically difficulity building a 16Mbit DRAM is orders of magnitude more complex than any GaAs process I've ever seen. Anyway you dont develop it yourself, you just hire away process and design engineers from the competition. That's the American way, only the Europeans are feel morally compelled to do everything from scratch.
