Wrong. WWII was already over when they dropped the nuclear bombs on Japan. Watch the film FOG OF WAR and hear Robert McNamara admit that it was a big lie put out that nuking would save US lives. The hawks at the Pentagon like Curtis Lemay just wanted to test the nukes on a human population. 90% of those killed were women, children and old people. It was one of the biggest cases of mass murder in world history and it was completely unnecessary.

Also wrong that Bush's idea of torture is "humane". The wording of his new bill only says that the torture cannot produce permanent damage. So if it only wounds or damages temporarily that's okay. Which means Bush has legalized virtually all forms of torture, and not because the CIA or military want it, they don't, it's because Bush-Cheney want it, even though they don't need it. They are apparently sadistic. They did not learn anything from Abu Graiab, that that kind of US behavior costs us dearly and creates thousands of new terrorists. Plus if our soldiers of CIA guys are captured they will not be in for it.
