I've heard and read similar type arguments about a variety of companies .... "They own this", "They intend doing that", "They have this share of the Market", etc, etc ....

BUT, in my book, a company should be out to MAKE AS MUCH OF A PROFIT AS IT CAN. And that generally means HOW MUCH OF ITS TOP LINE REVENUE GETS TO ITS BOTTOM LINE.

The more Revenue that gets there the more its Balance Sheet benefits and the greater will be the opportunity for the Board of Directors to pay the Shareholders a HEALTHY DIVIDEND.

Personally I'm not that interested in "what it owns", the "global home runs", etc, etc.... I'm interested in HOW MUCH PROFIT IT MAKES AS A BUSINESS WITH WHATEVER IT OWNS, WHATEVER IT DOES, WHATEVER IT DOESN'T DO .... And if it does that CONSISTENTLY, SO MUCH THE BETTER .....

I don't know about you, but when I look at Softbank's financials I don't see much in the way of "outstanding". I see a company that has a very high SG&A Expense eroding its Revenue. I see an excessive Debt burden that FURTHER erodes its Revenue, and I don't see much in the way of a dividend for its shareholders.
And I also see a share price (capital gain) performance that has done virtually nothing over the last 6 years.

So, like I said, in my opinion there are far better possibilities out there ...... maybe you see it differently.
