my dollar 'hedge' is that i'm in short-term bills. IF the inflationists are right, then i'll be able to roll to higher rates as time goes on (so i'll just suffer a very slow bleed of part of my purchasing power). if the deflationists are right, then it doesn't matter. since my life is in dollars, i don't really need a 'hedge'. now, i could speculate in euros or something else and try to make money off of the dollars decline, but i am very cognizant at this point of the bear's desire to eat everybody, even the bears. so i'm figuring i'm going to be largely on the sidelines pretty soon.
