Corel Corporation - COS Corel installs WordPerfect in Canadian embassies Shares issued 59,411,209 1999-03-05 close $6.9 Monday Mar 8 1999 Dr. Michael Cowpland reports The company has declared that the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade has purchased 6,800 maintenance licences for Corel WordPerfect Suite 8. The department plans to install Corel WordPerfect Suite 8 in embassies and consulates in 132 countries around the world, and at its head office in Ottawa. The department said that Corel WordPerfect Suite 8 was the best tool in terms of compatibility and ease of use. The outstanding compatibility features allow it to communicate with employees and contacts situated around the world. The Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade employs 7,000 people around the world, and manages Canada's day-to-day relations with the government and people of other nations. It develops and implements the policies that determine how Canada approaches its role and and world, and is ready to respond quickly and effectively when a crisis occurs.
