Lizzie - I know first hand all about engineering unemployment - fortunately not me - but a lot of my friends. Now let me tell you - and listen well - the guys in my department (and ladies) who have lost their jobs did not loose them to India or anywhere else. Those jobs were lost to the recession which killed capital spending - got that - capial spending. Capital spending because demand decreased because of the recession. Now things are rapidly starting to get better - too bad for you eh? So - why are things getting better - because growth is returning - why - tax cuts and low interest rates. If there is no growth there is no increase in government revenue - tax rates be darned. You ask yourself what policies the dems espouse that are going to benefit capital spending? Let's see - gasoline tax - kills Detroit? No new oil refineries - high gasoline prices - ah but that is a Dem success because they can blame Bush for high gas prices. And how do they get away with that - a willing media and a poorly educated society - the dem's greatest assets. So Lizzie - tell me all you want about left policies - but do not pretend to know a blooming thing about engineering unemployment.
