Not really, at least in my opinion. I don't know about the rest, but EP gets a couple years worth of salary upon leaving, so assuming they hire a replacement within that time period it would seem to me they end up paying double! That said, the right CEO could be worth way more than what he/she is paid in terms of company market cap. Perhaps it is time for CPQ to begin scaling back on the corporate PC side and concentrating on services and high end hardware...
