"Cain, a former Godfather's Pizza CEO, ended the July-to-September quarter with $1.3 million available in the bank for the primary fight. He spent nearly $2 million.

At least three other candidates raised more. Texas Gov. Rick Perry leads the Republican field, taking in $17.2 million, despite entering the race in mid-August. Former Massachusetts government Mitt Romney raised $14.2 million. Texas Rep. Ron Paul, known for his grass-roots support, collected nearly $8.3 million.

Surely, it isn't necessary to point out to you that those figures are from before Cain took the lead in the polling and before the tax plan, which put him on the map, hit.

There are plenty of things that can go wrong, but if he stays on track he can raise 10-15M this quarter, which will be sufficient.
