Dodger - Leaving players out.
Without getting into Company players, your assessment is fairly correct. You sound like me in Jan 96 on this thread. You sound as though your fairly new to the technology, and trust me the Acronyms are fairly easy if you stay in the realm of DSL and the technologies surrounding DSL. Of course when we say there are 600 million Copper Twisties out there, we know currently ADSL will not hit the half-way mark. The CEO of Westell used that number and the $500 end-to-end solution, while on CNBC with baited them into 600mill X $500 = 1% of the market being $1 Billion. This is unreasonable for ADSL, unless we are 10 years down the road and you include VDSL numbers too.
The 300 Billion number you use is fairly accurate, I hear closer to 2.5 Billion. VDSL will get into the T-Word in referencing it's worth of the complete market.
If you have just stumbled upon this group, consider yourself very lucky. Besides Amati on the M.Fool there are not to many threads around that really get down as deep as we Amatians. Granted there are many great threads.
Please go back and read a weeks worth. If you really desire more, we like the DOW are headed toward 7000 posts. You find a lot of good info, in house bickering, Songs, poetry, and a group of dedicated individuals helping each other out immensely.
Join the crowd, beware of people posting with many names, disrupting and arguing points to no end and no reason. Most not all do not have an Email address.
Most of all enjoy it all, JW@KSC |
