>> What did we "win" by invading Iraq, Dave?

Lots.

For openers, the Libya events of the last few days COULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED without the Iraq War, although Obama conveniently failed to mention it. It was the Iraq War specifically that caused Libya to disclose and decommission its WMD programs. Without that there is no way in hell Obama would have had the confidence to pursue his agenda there.

Far bigger, however, is the Arab Spring, which I predicted (and you all laughed off) here years ago as a direct result of the Iraq War. Would never have happened with Saddam in power. No conceivable way.

And of course, there is the stability in the oil situation which was a key reason for the invasion. With Saddam in power, we would have had chronic problems with oil supplies from the region.

While liberal nitwits will continue to contest the need for the Iraq War, more thoughtful individuals will recognize it was not only necessary and right, but that the national security interests were met by it.

It was a brilliant move on the part of the Bush Administration.
