Announcement will most likely be the porting of Open Office to an Ajax-based, Google-hosted, ad-supported model. I've predicted web apps overtaking "loaded" software for some time. It makes no sense to ship software (CD or digital) to the world when people can simply log on and have the most recent version always--ad-supported or monthy rented or micro-payment rented by usage. Don't know how much Google will start with, but calendar.google.com just went live this week.

MS Office will certainly suffer. OpenOffice is 90% of MS Office, yet most people barely use 10% of MS Office anyway. I'd once heard that Office was 40% of MS's net profit. Ouch.

That's my guess. it's about time for this disruptive technology to get going.
