Mfgrep: Noticed the move up early afternoon before the news hit, but did not no why. I had to confine myself to the basement to stain some cabinets I need to take to the lake this weekend and wouldn't you know it we get a nice pop and good news. Didn't have my alert on for Q, or I would have heard it. Nice news anyway, looks like a done deal.
As for Qwest long dist., I use Q long dist. via Nextel mobile and land line and it was working fine this AM for me(land line and also mobile), however I did not place any calls outside my "home" area (St. Louis to Wichita), so maybe I was on Nextel local and not Q network.
OT, 2 wks ago, SWB through SBIS (SWbell Internet Serv.) installed new DHCP server software and I was without DSL service for 8 days and the bad news was for 3 days they refused to acknowledge that it was their problem (kept blaming it on line, which had already been tested)...extremely poor service. I spent over 25 hours on the phone to them in the 8 days (most of the time on hold) and the service is just now stabilized and dependable.
Hope you have better luck with your LD.
