MEANWHILE, MUCH OF THE ECONOMY IS COST + PRICING. HIGHER INTEREST RATES RAISE COSTS, AS DO LOWER VOLUMES IN GENERAL. AND WITH SAUDISDEM SETTING PRICE AND LETTING OUTPUT FLOAT CRUDE WON'T FALL UNTIL THEY DECIDE IT WILL FALL UNTIL EXCESS SUPPLY EXCEEDS MAYBE 5 MILLION BARRELS/DAY. THAT MIGHT NOT HAPPEN FOR MANY MONTHS, BUT WHEN IT DOES, A MAJOR DEFLATIONARY COLLAPSE FOLLOWS SOMEWHAT LIKE 1980.
