XOI is an index of oil stocks, a better comparable might be the HUI? ... for underlying to underlying, it would be gold/oil, of which there are longterm charts around, with several wild bumps on them but it seems to have some sort of historical range between 6 and 10 for the most part [? - from memory] ... this only goes back three years, but a subscriber can likely get one ten years or better - stockcharts.com

Brent may be a better measure than WTI for the last few months, that's part of the picture

XOI/HUI, wild swings here too, but high-leverage oilsands juniors are what interest me, they're whacked down far harder than conventional oil stocks - stockcharts.com

Couldn't do much today, only a few minutes at a strange computer ... gold/silver take a rest, hmm ... gold hasn't quite made the 990 of last july, fridays have been good to the metals recently though
