I think when you examine any tax method, you need to include ALL forms of taxation.

18% National Sales tax
Plus:
7% State sales tax?
Gasoline tax
Property taxes
Payroll taxes
Etc. On and on.

You are right. Our country is over taxed.
Article 1 Section 8 details the role of the federal govt.

We would not have these problems if the federal government would limit itself to its Constitutional role. Everything else should be handled at the state and local level.
