Split? When Dr. J announced the 4-1 on Nov. 2nd, the stock was at 224 and had been in that range for a few weeks. His statement in effect said that he hoped that the split would allow for more investors to participate in the future growth. Based on a 224 price he would be looking for a post split of at least 56 per share. Yes, he would have anticipated a run up in price but I don't think that even Dr. J would have expected it to go so high so quickly.
Where does that leave us? IMHO Dr. J. didn't get the result he wanted, ie., a share price of 60-80, but I still do not think that a split will be announced at this time. FWIW, Q rose 36 points the day after the 4-1 announcement to 260 and a couple of weeks later it was at 360.
