And no, Jesus was not referring to "that" generation of people...He said "this" generation referring to the generation of people who would be living when ....the meaning of the parable of the fig tree would be born...

Skipper the meaning of the parable of the Fig tree was born In May of 1948...When Israel became after many long years...an independent nation ....and the good fig and the bad fig....began to return...

This generation shall not pass away till all thes things be fulfilled

Matt 24:32-35
32 "Now learn the parable from the fig tree: when its branch has already become tender, and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near;
33 even so you too, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the door.
34 "Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.
35 "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words shall not pass away.
(NAS)

This generation who is alive at the time of this event....
Now a generation in the Bible is 40..yrs...72yrs and 120..
Good question....good dialog...Thanks

Hopes this helps

Shalom..><>
