Mike, I am all about learning from one another. Helping each one of us to better our investment returns. You ask me to tell you when the bottom is in? I challenge you to find the knowledge that can be gained by expanding your analytical skills.

We have a bottom in now. I could see it coming several weeks ago. How? A combination of technical analysis and contrarian indicators. I have shared the links that show this was taking place many times here. Here is a great one. Although the discussion is dated the charts are not and they are updated daily:

capitalstool.com

Most of those charts indicate that there could be more upside to come. I've learned that you cannot argue with a chart. I've learned it from people like Harry Lew, Les Horiwitz, Gottfried and many others share their insight with us daily. They include links to incredibly useful charts and discussions. I thank them all for helping me to better understand how the market can go from one extreme to another.

Anyway, I have little argument with the technical situation suggesting a bottom is in. Where I have trouble is when I cannot find fundamental value at what is supposed to be the bottom of a bear market. The P/E ratio of the S&P 500 is way too high. Dividend ratios are way too low.

The real bottom? We have a bottom but the real bottom? It's not here yet.
