Duke, you're right to draw the analogy with Nixon. Nixon's selective use of the FBI's investigatory powers and the IRS's audit powers to crush his political enemies is a nice parallel with Microsoft's selective use of its anti-piracy powers. Yes, some system administrator in Utah may have done a few hundred dollars of damage to Microsoft by misreading his license agreement or even deliberately installing the same CD on multiple machines. And yes, some of Nixon's targets may or may not have deliberately overstated their deductions or invited some Communist party members to a cocktail party. But do you really want Microsoft or Nixon to have that kind of law enforcement power? "Nixon got popped for the coverup, not the crime." How very Microsoftian of you to think so. Dave
