Why are we arguing this on this thread, anyway? It belongs on Solon's thread.

1 - I don't really need another thread to follow.

2 - I've had enough of the wider religion vs. atheism online wars, I'm dealing dealing with specific questions, not the whole bash the other side question.

Fighting for Allah isn't religious?????

We aren't fighting for Allah. Our involvement in Iraq isn't religious.

"Well the wider war on terror is religious - On one side only..."

????? The Religious Right on this side doesn't count

They aren't waging war. At least not as "the religious right". (Many of them are supporters of the war against terrorism, or even more specifically Iraq, but to the extent they support it or fight in it they are doing so as Americans, not as some Christian militia, and they aren't fighting for theological reasons, or reasons of religious practice, dogma, worship etc.

And there are plenty of southern Irish that considered the IRA nothing but opportunists, goons, and killers.

They had support in Northern Ireland. And even in the South the support was massively greater than the support that abortion clinic bombers get in the US. (Hell in the US, or at least certain parts of it, the support the IRA got was probably more widespread than abortion clinics bombers got.)
