Windsock, You seem to like good Intel news, so how about this one:

P4 and Windows XP push Leadtek and Prolink to new revenue peaks

Fueled by the roll-outs of Pentium 4 processors and Windows XP, graphics card manufacturers Leadtek and Prolink Microsystems posted record revenues in October despite the temporary shortage of GeForce Titanium chips from Nvidia.

With the persistent demand and orders delayed from October, the two companies are expected to see new highs in revenues this month.

Sources said that in addition to the launches of P4 and Windows XP, the record revenues of the two graphics card manufacturers should also be attributed to additional orders from their ODM and OEM clients and the introduction of several new high-end graphics chips. Currently, contract manufacturing orders account for 30% and 50% of Leadtek and
Prolink’s sales, respectively.

Manufacturers said that GeForce2 MX400 graphics cards remain consumers’ favorite. The GeForce3 Ti series, launched in early October, actually targets high-end users. However, as Nvidia is set to officially introduce its integrated core logic chipset nForce in December, graphics card makers are keeping an eye on the impact on sales of the GeForce3 line.

[then some financial data for the two firms]
