Matt,

This is a post about tin. It is a very nonreactive metal. years ago, it was desirable in our laboratory piping and water systems because of that. 304 or 316 stainless has mostly replaced "blocked tin", but perhaps the tin was better, just more expensive. This is a mental wandering from an old guy who had some lab experience about 27 years ago. Take it for that.
