Largest Fiber Award in Corning History.

Don't know if there's been previous mention of this
but Aerie Networks announced plans to buy Corning's
LEAF fiber for all of Aerie's planned 20,000 mile
nationwide network. This will be a 432 fiber per mile
install, or a total of 8.9 million fiber miles. Total
value of contract over 4 years is $1 billion. Aerie's
network will eventually connect 194 cities in US.

Corning has already sold out their fiber to the end
of 2001.
