the doctor's employees gossip. I have had situations where a doctor's employee called a friend to tell them that so-and-so was HIV positive or had a STD.

This is what bothers me most. The "mush-for-brains" folks you can't trust.

My FIL would have been a "clusterf***" - diabetes and complications. My MIL had to be the one keeping track of stuff otherwise mistakes would have been made. Technology could definitely address this issue but I expect a lot of training would be required too.
