IT'S A QUESTION OF PRIORITIES

By Cori Dauber

On the front page of today's Times there's a picture with the caption Iraqis Enraged by Raid on Baghdad Mosque.

The caption for that photo includes a tease for an article on page A7, an article about the fact that in Mosul Iraqi commandos "staged raids in search of insurgenst' hide-outs, and up to a dozen decapitated bodies were found."

I assume that's this article (and you can see the photo that was splashed across four columns above the fold.) And you'll notice which of those two stories, combined in one article, gets top billing there. (Notice the bodies have been left where they were found out of fear of booby traps.)

Meanwhile,
(although, admittedly, below the fold) this is on the front page.

Thanks, Howell.
