Hi Freakazoid,
You are very correct, that it is good to sell high and buy back low, if you can do that. Sometimes, if you are not careful, you sell high and the stock will go higher before you have a chance to buy back in. I feel that the stock will go higher (IMO) and I don't want to miss out by trying to be fancy and sit on the sidelines wondering what happened.
I have read that many investors sell their hot stocks while holding on the stock that is not moving. I have also read that if a stock picks up momentum, an investor should hold on to the stock because the momentum will carry the stock price higher.
I guess we should all practice our own style of investing and not tried to convince someone else to change their style. My style is to invest in stock that I feel comfortable with and not what someone else feels comfortable with, unless they are sitting right at my side, where I can move in and out of the stock at the same exact time as they do. I would also have to respect their style of investing.
To All, Have a happy and rewarding new year.
Go BETT!!! Scoobey
