I can't think of any good reason to make email addresses available in profiles. Well, none that outweigh the cost.

The cost, as I see it, is that if an email address is available in a profile, it can be "harvested".

Comments? Anyone?

Which reminds me: If I haven't mentioned this earlier, the thing of being able to search previously-used aliases is tabled indefinitely. It's one of those "could be handy" things that has a lot of cost factors that may make it less than worthwhile.

For now and for the foreseeable future, only a person's current alias can be searched.
