Hi I2:
I am sorry once again for not making myself clear. At the end of last year and early this year, I felt that the markets would peak in the first quarter. I said it in so many different ways that I bored myself and stopped posting. In fact, this period, which will probably last years, is very similar to the late 1960s and the bear markets of 1970 and 1974. Currently, I believe we are in a period similar to the 1970 time-frame. If we are, the markets will reach their lows sometime between now and the middle of 2001. Then we will have a rally to new highs in at least the INDU. After that, we will have the bear market that begins the basing period for the next multi-year bull market.
The quotes from the book are from an "Adam Smith" book about the 1960s. In that book, the wild speculative bull market of the 1960s is described with the garbage stocks finally reaching their peak, being recognized by speculators as less than investment quality, and finally sold off to appropriate prices. The final same speculative surge took place from late 1999 through March 2000. Since I said the sky will fall so many times during early 2000, I was looking for another way to make the point. I thought by showing the quotes from the book with the actual prices of this crop of garbage stocks, it would be obvious. I was wrong.
<OT> Now, may I ask your assistance? Last night, the Rehnquist Court appointed the Governor of Texas as the next President. However, I have seen people pronouncing the letter "W" in interesting ways. Could you tell me if "W" sounds like "duh-bya," "duhh-bya," or "duhhh-bya." Thanks in advance. |
