well, there is a first for everything...and your facetiousness is duly noted<G>. as a side note, have you ever seen a small cap tech in this situation? regardless of the size, its what,IMHO, should have been done.
fine. work out a tax free way to then spin off the company to shareholders. additionally, when the shares would actually be worth something, how much of an assurance can we get from management that they will indeed spin it out to us.
maybe your right. maybe everyone will do the right thing. however, i would rather have it now than later. it doesnt do anything for us now, and the stock wont go up until they actually announce an IPO for splitpea, and the spin off to shareholders.
my way would have saved us a bunch of steps, and a lot of time.
and one more thing to consider...an IPO would have provided both splitpea and PPOD with cash, even minus the resource drain of road shows<G>.
in a year who can say that tulip mania will still be with us? if they went public now they could get a wonderful valuation. then, with success, it would increase dramatically. now they will go public with all the success behind them. and (quite possibly) a lot of hype that could have been very useful.
good luck to all, trey |
