I can guarantee that these guys work their asses off about 8 days a week. Believe it.
Also, some one posted the retention rate of engineers is very high. As I've said, it's because they get rewarded BIG TIME! They wouldn't dream of leaving. I've been to MRV headquarters before, (I live in L.A. as you can tell by my basketball alliances) and it is extremely frudgal. The company was started with only 20K.
I have a question for whoever took the tour ... Was the UCSB tour guide, did he have blond hair, about 5'8" or so?? Just curious, I'm a UCSB grad as of last year '96.
Anyways, thanks for the posts from the meeting. I am up North recuperating from a bad car accident. Wish you all the best, and now is the time I am throwing EVERY dime I have (about 4 of them) into MRVC. Think about it, you are getting a stock with a year of GOOD growth for LESS than what it started out at last year, and 40% less than where Bear Stern's reccommended it, and man, let's say they only earn a dollar a share for the next ten years straight.
You are getting about 5% interest PLUS the assets the company owns, which, by the way, includes a cash position. Just looking and evaluating it from that perspective, how the hell can you go wrong.
Sadaam nukes Israel?? Okay, maybe I'll just throw down 3 dimes instead of four. :)
