If there were public health coverage, people wouldn't have to go to the emergency room to be treated for colds. They'd be able to have a regular doctor. Indeed. But that's not the only way to see a doctor. It's not binary. It's not. Besides, you shouldn't waste either your money or your insurance pool's money or the state's money seeing a doctor when you have a cold.
