Mackay Lake/Back Lake Project, N.W.T., Canada
The first drill hole (ML-001) was to a depth of 1,600 metres. An intercept containing two narrow intersections of kimberlite totalling 20 centimetres was encountered at 1,316 metres. The objective of the drill hole was to confirm a possible extension of the Snap Lake kimberlite sill onto the Mackay Lake property. A second drill hole, ML-002, has commenced drilling approximately 800 metres east of ML-001 to test whether the kimberlite zone widens to the east.
A second drill hole, ML-002, 800 metres east of the completed first hole, was at 1,080 metres as of December 8, 2000. This hole will test whether the kimberlite zone in ML-001 widens to the east. The target zone is 1,300 - 1,450 metres, total depth 1,600 metres. Drilling is expected to resume from 1,080 metres the first week of February 2001.
Results from 159 indicator mineral samples taken in the north part of the Back Lake Project are expected before February 2001. ---------------- Results on these indicators today???? |
