Did I suggest it was necessary to "forgo" personal freedoms? If you own a delivery van in Manhattan, is it the "right" of some self proclaimed graffiti "artist" to deface your property with his "art"? Or do you think you have the right to prosecute such an individual? If you own an apartment building and a particular tenant continually urinates in the elevator and is a nuisance to the other tenants, do you have the right to terminate his lease and give him the boot? Should I have the right to drive down the freeway without being visually assaulted with the sight of some guy defecating under an overpass? I should hope so. bp
