John, seniors are not thrilled with the new drug plan, they're convinced it benefits the drug cos more than them.
Walmart is a scourge on smalltown USA. It's the nation's largest employer but it's presence eliminates small businesses in the local area & provides poor quality jobs in their place. Bush Adm does nothing to remedy the ill effects of WangMart in rural areas, other than extoling the virtue of it's Chinese-peasant merchandise which is produced for pennies. Walmart & the flood of illegal immigration combined to create a drag on the national wage scale in general. Employers squeeze workers for additional production without offering commensurate reward either in salary or benefits. Instead many employers either offshore American jobs or downsize while the Bush Adm does nothing to fight such 19thC unfair practices towards America's labor force. Jobs outsourcing is the most visible injustice. The practice steamrolled because of tax benefits for the outsourcing cos. Yet Pres Bush's adolescent-like chief financial advisor insists "outsourcing of American jobs is good for the country." Workers are not convinced that's the case & that's one of many reasons why Pres Bush has been forced to campaign like a demon in order to win reelection. Members of his administration like Evans & Snow appear to be completely oblivious to any of the discontent beyond the Fortune 500. For these reasons GW's reelection is still uncertain. His only hope is that the majority of voters (like me) place more importance on national security than the economy at this time.
