The Rockville business area where there were five or more sniper shootings was quite busy in the last week. I didn't really notice the drop-off during the two-week sniper search until the first weekend after when the traffic picked up dramatically. I've noticed that my former company is starting to hire in Silicon Valley. I haven't seen that in almost two years. There seemed to be a pickup just after the government fiscal year started in October and the jobs look to be government and of the intelligence/homeland security realm.
