(Dow Jones)--Five more airports selected Identix Inc.'s (IDNX) Live Scan fingerprint biometric technology for rapid processing of employee background checks. These five airports are in addition to the five new airports Identix announced last week, bringing the total number of airports using Live Scan to 31. These orders follow the signing into law of the Aviation and Transportation Security Act by President Bush on Nov. 19. The law requires that every current and prospective airport and airline employee with access to secure areas undergo a criminal history background check. Shares of Identix traded recently at $12.26, up 29 cents, or 2.4% on Nasdaq volume of 351,200 shares. Average daily volume is 931,736 shares. (MORE) DOW JONES NEWS 01-10-02
