Skipper, if you haven't read it in 20 years then you have missed out on the New Amer. Std. It goes back to the oldest documents and uses what we learned with the dead sea scrolls. I to use the greek and hebrew to research. So, you are basing this opinion on what then... a study twenty yrs ago. One of those questions was pretty basic. So, what you are really saying is " you are doing one of those things that christains make a mistake of.... condemning stuff without really examining the evidence." What can I ask you then. You say the bible is bunk but you say you don't remember it. Hey, 20 years ago... I read plenty of things that i have chenged my opinion on.... I always keep a open mind. Now to the VULGATE...that is one of the most erroneous translations out there. What they use to do until 20 yrs ago was translate into a dif lanugage from a transalation instead of finding the earliest documents and doing it from that. It's about like me saying that evolution is bunk but not being about to say why or giving refernces etc. etc. Or saying, well I studied that 20 yrs ago and it's bunk but I can't tell you why. Question: name some things that you really dislike about the person Jesus. What did he do that really ticked you off. Name things about Jesus that if the whole world were like that we would not be a better world??? Was He a liar, murderer, did he slander and steal. Did He injure and hurt people... was He too judgemental.. what did He do besides love and ask us to show we knew the Father and Him by our love and actions instead of our mouth??? Okay...what don't you like about Jesus.??? Disclaimer: this is a discussion. no one is judging you or forcing you to beleive or think in a particular way. We can't pursue this if you think I'm trying to force you one way or the other. or think less of you if you aren't a steve clone<g>
