| CB, As you pointed out, the workmen's comp laws are different in every state, or at least the way they are managed are different. Where I lived most of my life, and where I live now, there is a large contingent of lawyers that advertise, saying in a way, that they can get a plaintiff more money than the law allows. They get 30% around here. Such lawyers are a problem for both the employer, and employee. I am not, actually, putting any blame on any individual, but am very leery about any lawyer that I retain, for any reason. Though I rarely need to use a lawyer, I will search for one that does not have a huge advertising budget. I feel safer with them. |
