>>Every one always says the market looks x months forward ... how far forward do the currency markets look? Are currency futures lifespans of the same duration as stock options?<<

Thats just a convenient excuse to move the market. If everyone knew
which way the currency market would move everyone would be rich.
If the market looked ahead x months KO would have fallen x months
ago instead of Friday. Now the US$ has probably peaked against the
DM.

With Wage pressures no technology exists to replace the delivery
man/truck driver and the delivery of a physical product like food, computers, flowers, etc. As far as I know transporters do not exist yet. Some in the industry say its just as fast and cheaper to fly Film to Hollywood others say its faster and cheaper to transmit over a data network at Midnight. (the talk of two film processors for movies)

Cost of Vehicles and expenses go up. Gas/Diesel is up and down.
Know the drivers want more Full time jobs instead of PT jobs and
higher wages. Outsourcing only works to remove high paying jobs off
your payroll. Like GM is selling off parts manufacturing and designing
and focusing just on assembly.

But it depends on what your company does and the amount of work to be done. If your company is a produce warehouse, outsourcing the trucking never works because your profit depends on shipping produce everyday to more or less the same customers on a daily or weekly basis. In the Case of DELL Computer, the customer is usually always different or not on a regular basis so out sourcing is cost effective and works.
